Under the circumstances, one can only appeal and urge Britain to set the right example for Iran and North Korea to emulate. But, these ‘peacenik’ thoughts will always remain dreams because realists across the world will cite ten big reasons for the continuation of cold war type deterrence. More importantly, will the military industrial complex, embedded in the Western ethos, ever allow the fear of annihilation to vanish? And, isn’t that the neo-conservative agenda?
